Glasgow International Christian Church is the local church arm of Heart for the City.GICC as it's fondly called is a fast growing church within the city aimed at bringing both the local folks and the ethnic minority groups spread accross the cosmopolitan city of Glasgow together as brethren and to the love of Christ.
As a ministry saddled with the responsibility of city transformation and social integration we believe that the greatest tool that can bring about peace ,love and mutual co-existence is the gospel of Jesus Christ.
GICC has in its leadership structure Rev.Dr Lukas Njenga(CEO-Heart for the City)
Pastor Francis B Alao(Senior Pastor-GICC),Pastor Fraser Ogston(Prayer Director)& Pastor Stanley Kimere(Administration)
The church is such a vibrant and lively gathering of saints predominantly peolpe from various backgrounds with about 16 nationalities represented. Also as a church located in the academic environment ie Glasgow Caledonian Univesity,it has programmes tailored toward the students especially international students who are usually fresh in the city if not in the country and have got various challenges ranging from settling in the environment, integration and spiritual well-being.
GICC is famous for its African Praise Nite Outreach which it organizes at different mainline churches within and outside Glasgow. This is aimed at blending the typical Scottish culture with African through praise and worship.
The vision of G.I.C.C is to minister in the University enviroment in the power of the Holy Spirit, with constant hunger for more of God's presence and annointing. We aim at developing one of the largest Glasgow congregation with a powerful outreach ministry.
We see ourselves being in a very pivotal role the entire city dynamics of transision.
Our commitmant to the University is based on the Understanding that most of the Universities in the United Kingdom are mini- global centres where cultures, creeds, ideas and visions are being blend on a regular base. We therefore see this as a very Important opportunity for us to impact the world by impacting the University community.
We hold a very traditional view of the understanding of the Bible as the infailable word of God, we believe that "the Scriptures is given by the inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be thoroughly equiped for every good work". (2 Timothy 2:16 NKJV)
We beleive in the Trinity of God The father , the Son and the Holy Spirit. and the working of Miracles , sign and wonders as relevant and active in the 21st century.
We practise water baptism as an acceptable intiation to Christian faith, the celebration of Holy communion as a regular way of keeping our commitment to the death and the ressurection of Jesus Christ.
AS the Pastor of G.I CC I would like to welcome you to come and worship with us every sunday morning 11.00 am -1pm you will enjoy the music, fellowship and powerful message of the word of God. If would like to know more about our Church.
