Our vision is to support, encourage, restore and transform the city, for the Glory of God. To promote City Transformation through fervent prayer and fasting, fostering prayer groups in the community and prayer walking in the City
This is a non-denominational, non-political, Christian organisation. It operates under spiritual oversight of key city leaders and respects every Christian denomination that believes in the Trinity of God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Heart for the City exists as a catalyst for all the Christian churches and Charismatic organisations. Heart for the City believes in the power of God in transforming individuals, families, communities, cities and nations.
We believe that: God alone has the best plan for mankind, plans for peace and not for evil, to give a future and a hope (Jer 29:11). Anything short of that is not our package.
Our vision is to advance the Christian faith among the people of Scotland and elsewhere in the United Kingdom; to relieve the suffering of drug and substance abusers, socially disadvantaged and broken families, people suffering from anti-social behaviour and hurting members of the community and deprived members of society; and to seek to educate, train and rehabilitate drug and substance abusers and socially disadvantaged members of the community.
- to promote public worship, fervent prayers and joyous Christian celebration, without fear or shame.
- to train and support Christians, Christian workers and partners, nationally and internationally;
- to work among the, socially disadvantaged and broken families, persons suffering from anti-social behaviour and deprived members of the community generally and thereby to seek to transform city and community live.
- to seek to improve communities, community lifestyle, housing, racial and ethnic relationships and social integration by spiritual, social and economic assistance (including the encouraging, financing or facilitating of research on urban improvement and development) and
- to organise Christian concerts, conferences and mass evangelism.
It is our desire to see walls of division between Christians of different races and denominations torn down as we unite in the presence of the living God to worship and pray together.
Our vision is to see believers in Christ begin to make it part of their routine to gather outside the walls of their own congregations with Christians of other denominations and ethnic groups.
We believe that the ultimate fruit of these events will be to break down the individualism, racism, fear, bitterness and apathy in the Church. This will build a strong sense of “one Church with many congregations in the city” making the Church far more effective in reaching the lost with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Only the blood of Jesus can save souls and transform hearts and minds. Our heart is to see Jesus’ prayer realized, “I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message that all of them may be one . . . that the world might believe” (Jn 17). Together united in Christ we will reach Glasgow. ARE YOU WITH US?
Heart for the City believes the time for the church to break the Hellenistic view of the dichotomy between the sacred and the secular has come. We know that the earth is the Lords and all that is in it. Every arena of life, whether Political, Economical or Social have their importance in our lives. As the salt and light of this world we should be able to interact with, influence and challenge all these fields.
