Following the Visit of the Kenyan high commissioner to the Heart for the City Chat-House in Glasgow in October 2005 . Serious discussions with the Kenyan Government started on how we could be involved to create similar projects that would deliver user friendly Digital access stations that would also become centres of E-learning, e-commerce, E-governance, e- entertainment and e-banking.
This Centre would open the rural Kenya to the rest of the world and give Kenyans an opportunity to have free and fair trade, free and easy access to information of the world market and be able to buy and sell on -line like many of us do.
The project is being done in partnership with Stake holders or entrepreneurs in the community, The Kenyan government and The Heart for the City.
We are planning to deliver 1000 stations in the following category.
- 210 Digital Villages (That is in every constituency) each with 12 Computers, 4-in -1 printers wireless broadband connection.
- 71 digital Kiosk (That is in every administrative district) each with 5 computers and the above accessories and connectivity.
- 355 Digital Schools (That is five Schools in every Administrative District) each with 5 and the above accessories and connectivity.
