YOUTH OF POSITIVE IMPACT (YOPI) - Youth ministry of HEART FOR THE CITY
YOPI comprises a group of vibrant youth of different cultural background all residing in Glasgow.
Our ages range between 10 and 21, and we are mentored by a committee of young leaders who have a passion for the youth.
Our motto is ‘You are born an eagle not a chicken. Whilst chicken are ground bound and inhibited, eagles fly and remain un-inhibited. We are eagles!Our mission is to impact those around us with right deeds, a peaceful attitude and joy.
Our vision is to be part of the blessed and bold young who will effectively serve in various capacities globally, holding their roles with esteem, godliness and integrity.
The United Nations has long recognized that the imagination, ideals and energies of young women and men are vital for the continuing development of the societies in which they liv.
With information, choices and opportunities, our young will live healthier and more productive lives and we too will live in safer societies with less crime.
Biblically, the youth are likened to the walls of Jerusalem. In Nehemiah 1:3, they bring power, protection and beauty to their homes, communities and society. Yopi group’s core teachings revolve around this fact. A disciplined son / daughter is the beauty of her parents and community. It is as basic as that.
In their youth, God chose Joseph, Samuel and David amongst others. Through young Joseph, a shepherd, a nation averted a famine; through Samuel a king’s wrath literally mellowed by music, and through David, a fully armoured Philistine giant brought to his shameful death by a mere pebble from a sling. How I pray that YOPI will be used as mightily by God to salvage all back to Him.
Our youth are a resource; please come with all your friends and be part of us! With our loving Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit all for us, we will build this society.
